Report: Supervalu ships IT jobs to India
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Supervalu is outsourcing its IT services, resulting in about 180 information technology jobs going to India, reports indicate.
According to reports, the company informed affected employees on Tuesday. Employees will be able to apply for other jobs within the company. Laid off employees will receive severance packages and outplacement help, reports said.
For its second quarter, Supervalu reported earnings of $148 million, or 69 cents a share, for its second fiscal quarter, compared with 61 cents a share , or $132 million, a year ago.
