Report: SoCal union warns of possible strike
LOS ANGELES
According to the Los Angeles Times, the Southern California chapter of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union said it would cancel a temporary agreement not to strike with Ralphs, Albertsons and Vons if the supermarket chains didn't start to compromise on contract negotiations.
UFCW Local 770, said it would notify employers of the cancellation next week if the chains did not start meeting some of the union's demands when the talks resume Monday.
The contract for the workers at the Southern California, Ralphs, Albertsons and Vons supermarkets was supposed to expire March 5, but because of rolling extention has remained in force.
