Report: Retailers looking for alternative means of growth

New York City With consumer spending stabilizing and cash on hand, retailers and private-equity firms are starting to look again for alternative means of growth, such as acquisitions, rather than opening more of the same stores, said Gilbert Harrison, chairman and CEO of Financo, in a Bloomberg report.

U.S. companies will also look overseas, to China and India and Japan, for more of their growth.
