Report: Meijer continues to test smaller-format stores
Walker, Mich. Meijer is opening smaller-format stores, about half the size of its other stores, and focusing on groceries that reflect the ethnic and demographic mix of the surrounding community, according to the Indianapolis Star.
The first such store opened in Niles, Ill., and others are planned for Midwest cities including Indianapolis, Detroit and Columbus.
