Walmart’s house brands are getting a new audience — millennials.
Jet.com, which caters to the cost-conscious Gen Y segment, has started offering private label brands — Great Value, Equate and Sam’s Choice — from its parent company, Walmart, according to
Bloomberg.
Besides merging new categories and product lines on Jet, Walmart has also integrated both companies’ online order-fulfillment centers — two moves that put Walmart another step closer to competing with Amazon.com.
While Walmart will continue to operate separate e-commerce sites and target different customer groups, the Walmart private label brands will be used to supplement Jet’s assortment,
Bloomberg reported.
