Report: J.C. Penney looks abroad for new tech center
The J.C. Penney Co Inc. is reportedly developing a new IT facility in a popular overseas location.
According to the Dallas Business Journal, Penney will build a center in Bengaluru, India. The facility will employ about 1,000 workers when fully open and is expected to have about 450 technology professionals working there by the end of the year. Consulting firm ANSR, which has helped retailers including Target and Lowe’s establish facilities in India, is assisting Penney with the project.
