Report: Google getting into e-books
NEW YORK Google is looking to enter the e-book market, according to a report by CNNMoney.com.
Google's online bookstore will be called Google Editions and will free items from Google Books and items for purchase from publishers. According to the report, Google's digital books will be readable on multiple devices. In addition, unlike other e-book providers, which require users to download content, Google's service will be available on a Web browser.
