Report: Former Rite Aid CEO to be released from prison in Jan.

New York City Martin Grass, the former CEO and chairman of Rite Aid, is scheduled to be released from a community corrections center in Miami on Jan. 18, the Patriot-News reported.

Grass is one of six former senior executives charged with overstating Rite Aid earnings in the period before the company’s current management team assumed control of the company in 1999. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud and conspiracy to obstruct justice in June 2003, according to the report, and agreed to cooperate with the government in the ensuing investigation.
