Report: Customer Satisfaction Improves

Washington, D.C. As retailers continue to feel the fallout from a dismal holiday season and try to navigate through a turbulent economy, they seem to be stepping up their game, according to consumers who reported higher customer satisfaction during the fourth quarter.

The University of Michigan’s American Customer Satisfaction Index Q4 2008 report, which was released Tuesday, reported that customer ratings are on an upswing among retail companies, including department and discount stores, specialty retail stores, gasoline stations, supermarkets, and health and personal-care stores.
