Report: Best Buy scales back U.K. expansion
New York City Best Buy has reduced the number of stores it plans to open in the United Kingdom by 2013 from 100 to 80, according to the Financial Times.
Best Buy and its joint venture partner, U.K. consumer-electronics retailer Carphone Warehouse, will open one to five stores in the United Kingdom next spring, according to the report.
In March, Best Buy announced it had postponed the opening of its first store in the United Kingdom from third quarter 2009 to first quarter 2010.
