Report: Amazon, Wal-Mart, Target limit sales of low-cost books
New York City The book-price war among Amazon, Wal-Mart and Target has prompted the retailers to limit the number of copies they allow customers to buy in an effort to prevent other retailers from purchasing bulk quantities and then reselling the discounted titles, The Wall Street Journal reported.
Amazon has a three-copy limit on certain books, while Wal-Mart is holding online customers to two copies each and Target has set its limit at five, the report said.
