Alexa is getting personal.
Amazon is reportedly working on a feature that would allow the Alexa voice assistant that powers its Echo line of speakers to distinguish between individual users based on their voice, sources familiar with the situation told
Time.
One source said in the report explained that Amazon’s new feature would match the person speaking to a voice sample, or “voice print,” to verify a person's identity.
Besides creating a more seamless experience when sharing an Echo among multiple family members or roommates, the promised functionality could authenticate users before voice-activated orders are placed,
