Regis to Close Salons

Minneapolis Regis Corp. will close 160 underperforming company-owned salons in the United States and United Kingdom. The chain operates 8,500 company-owned locations.

Regis reported that approximately 100 locations are regional mall-based stores, 40 operate in strip centers and the remaining 20 locations operate in the United Kingdom.

All locations will close their doors by Dec. 31.

The chain is not disclosing which specific stores will close, but they are not concentrated in any one state, said Alex Forliti, director, finance-investor relations, Regis.
