Redner’s Warehouse Market deploys new surveillance system

12/1/2009

Boston Grocery and convenience-store chain Redner’s Warehouse Market said Tuesday that it has deployed a surveillance system by 3VR Security. The new system, San Francisco-based 3VR’s SmartRecorder searchable surveillance solution, is designed to reduce losses, improve crime-investigation efficiency and cut down theft of all kinds.

The new system will allow Redner’s to integrate intelligent surveillance into its current security system and deploy sophisticated solutions aiding in fraud, loss prevention and addressing retail theft.

“3VR has the most advanced system we have seen as far as facial recognition, video quality and the types of video searches it is able to conduct. The combination of all the functions has proved very powerful for us,” said Cory Deily, director of security & loss prevention, Redner’s Warehouse Market.

Redner’s use of the new system has cut the time spent searching through video by security personnel by 50% to 75% on average, accelerating the turn-around time in which they can respond to incidents and submit evidence to the police.

Redner’s operates 40 grocery stores and 15 convenience outlets in Maryland and Pennsylvania.
