Target isn’t generally the first company to undertake aggressive pricing actions, but it sure is quick to replicate the actions of others, as was the case this week when it lowered prices on popular books. The company demonstrated its fast follower status by announcing price cuts on highly anticipated new releases from big name authors such as Stephen King, Dean Koontz and John Grisham that enable the company to match prices at Walmart.com and Amazon.com. The $8.99 prices on the new releases, as well as free shipping, are available to those who pre-order the books.
