IS THE ORGANICS MOVEMENT HERE TO STAY, OR IS IT JUST THE LATEST CRAZE?

Based on responses collected 4/16 through 4/26

Naturals and organics are the wave of the future. Consumers are slowly turning towards healthy bodies and healthy environments. Automobile manufacturers are producing eco-friendly cars, ffertilizer manufacturers are producing natural and organic soil additives, there are lines of organic clothing and grocery stores are featuring whole sections of organic products. Each new generation will focus more and more on the subject as the effects of global warming and pollution become more obvious.—Diana Hickey

Increased exposure to crop loss due to insects or disease will keep organics small. America’s farmers cannot afford to go totally organic. The risk is too great. Equipment sitting still equals bankruptcy for most.—Anonymous

Once the educated public figures out more harmful natural ingredients lurk in our organic foods, the craze will die.—Anonymous

Consumers have learned not to trust the FDA and are taking what they eat more seriously, from foods to drugs. New label laws are helping but the government has allowed for loopholes even in the newest laws. Consumers beware!—Anonymous

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF CIRCUIT CITY’S DECISION TO LAY OFF 3,400 WORKERS?

Seems as though they may have made the first huge mistake, since the “Schoonover era” began. He brought many BBY employees over to remake CC into a more formidable competitor to Best Buy. This, coupled with the Intertan/CC Canada/The Source purchase could set CC back years in its ability to be a competitive player in the CE world.—Fran Furillo
