Rand bolsters board
Rand Corporation has appointed former Bloomingdale’s chairman and CEO Michael Gould and Paul Kaminski, who has held high-level posts in U.S. Department of Defense, to its board of trustees.
“Michael Gould and Paul Kaminski are talented leaders and each has a passion to help Rand deliver rigorous and objective analysis to policy and decision makers in all corners of the world,” said president and CEO Michael D. Rich. “I know they will be valuable additions to our governing board.”
From 1991 to early 2014, Gould was at the help at Bloomingdale’s, when the company expanded from 15 stores to become a $3 billion, 50-unit retailer with a broad national presence. He is involved with numerous philanthropic and cultural organizations, and serves on boards at the Columbia University Graduate School of Business, Lenox Hill Hospital and The American Jewish Committee.
Kaminski rejoins the board of trustees, where he served as chairman from 2009 to 2013. He first joined the board in 2001. Kaminski is chairman and CEO of Technovation, a consulting company dedicated to fostering innovation and to the development and application of advanced technology. He served as the undersecretary of defense for acquisition and technology from 1994 to 1997. He was formerly chairman and CEO of Technology Strategies and Alliances, two-time chairman of the Defense Science Board and member of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board.
