RadioShack reports 26% rise in Q4 profit

Fort Worth, Texas RadioShack announced Tuesday that its profit for the quarter ended Dec. 31 rose 26%, from earnings of $60.1 million to $75.7 million.

Profit results missed Wall Street estimates, but a 4.7% rise in revenue to $1.32 billion was in line with expectations.

The electronics retailer credited higher sales of cell phones and coverage plans for the rise in profit.

Same-store sales rose 6% during the quarter.
