RadioShack bolsters leadership team with former Belk exec

RadioShack has appointed former Belk executive Mark A. Boerio to the newly created position of SVP, inventory planning and allocation, effective Dec. 3.



He is the latest addition to the leadership team being assembled by CEO Joseph C. Magnacca as the company repositions the brand, revamps the product assortment, reinvigorates the stores, increases its operational efficiency and enhances financial flexibility.



"I am pleased to have Mark join the RadioShack team,” said Magnacca. “As we execute our strategy to revamp our product assortment and localize our assortment in each store, we recognize we will place greater demands on our inventory management team and processes. Mark will provide new leadership in this arena and brings with him a proven career in this discipline. We are very happy to continue to attract top retail talent to our company as we focus on executing a successful turnaround."



Prior to joining RadioShack, Boerio served in various executive functions for Belk, most recently serving as SVP, corporate strategy. During his 11-year tenure at Belk, Boerio also served as SVP, merchandise planning and allocation, and SVP, stores. Before joining Belk, Boerio served as manager, merchandise planning for Victoria's Secret. Boerio received his MBA from Duquesne University and his B.S. in business administration, finance, from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.



Huey P. Long, EVP of strategy and consumer insights, has chosen to leave RadioShack to pursue other opportunities, according to the company. His responsibilities have been reassigned to other executives in the organization.
