RadioShack Acquires Mexican Business

Fort Worth, Texas RadioShack Corp. announced Tuesday it bought out its partner in its Mexican joint venture, making it sole owner of Radio Shack de Mexico SA de CV.

RadioShack paid Grupo Gigante SAB de CV about $43 million in cash for its interest in the Mexican operations, which includes approximately 200 RadioShack branded stores.

The Mexican stores, a general office, service center and distribution center will now become a RadioShack subsidiary.

RadioShack de Mexico's stores are mostly found in shopping centers. The company has approximately 1,200 workers
