Publix Tops Consumer Satisfaction List
Lakeland, Fla. Publix Super Markets topped the list of supermarkets on the American Customer Satisfaction Index for the 14th consecutive year. Publix topped the list with a score of 83 out of a possible 100 points, the same as it scored last year.
Other supermarkets that topped the list include Kroger, which scored a 75, dropping one point from the previous year, Supervalu, which scored a 74, and Whole Foods with 73 points.
“Excellent customer service is something we pride ourselves in,” said Publix media and community relations director Maria Brous. “It’s gratifying to know customers are pleased with our service. It speaks volumes that we’ve been recognized so many consecutive years.”
Publix operates 928 stores in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee. The company generated $21.7 billion in sales in 2006.
