Public art added to mall entrance
Visitors to the Super Target in Brighton, Colo., are now greeted by 15-foot tall metal sunflowers as they enter the Prairie Creek lifestyle mall where the store is located. The mall developer installed 18 of the big sunflowers designed by artist Christopher Weed along the one-quarter-mile entrance to the center, which also includes such tenants as Home Depot, Kohl’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Michaels.
“The sunflowers add a touch of whimsy as well as a salute to the beauty of the prairie,” said Michael Staenberg, founder of THF Realty, the company that developed and owns the center northeast of Denver. “Chris’s work is highly regarded and he did an outstanding job of translating our vision into an engaging display.”
