ProLogis adds Japan distribution space
Tokyo Global distribution facility-provider ProLogis said Friday it has signed a leasing agreement for more than 645,000 sq. ft. of distribution space currently under construction in Japan.
The deal was signed with a Japanese manufacturing company for an undisclosed amount. With the deal, the facility at ProLogis Parc Ichikawa II is currently 82% leased. The company anticipates leasing the remainder of the facility before the scheduled inauguration in November.
The site is located near Tokyo with access to transportation facilities through major national expressways, such as the Wangan Expressway and the Keiyo Expressway.
ProLogis owns and manages interests in more than 2,500 distribution facilities, service offices, and properties spanning 475 million sq. ft. of space.
With approximately 8.2 million sq. ft. of distribution space completed or under way, and 98 acres of land for future development, ProLogis is one of the largest providers of distribution facilities in Japan.
Its major customers in the country include Costco warehouse club.
