Project Profiles

10/1/2008

East Peoria/Downtown 2010 encompasses more than 86 acres that will include 500,000 sq. ft. of retail space, office space, live/work units and civic buildings, making prime retail locations available for the first time in this highly visible, easily accessible dynamic trade area located in the heart of the Central Illinois market. The project is an extension of existing development in the area, including a new Embassy Suites and the Riverside retail development.

East Peoria/Downtown 2010 is a vision that creates a vibrant new mixed-use center for East Peoria, incorporating many of the fundamentals of New Urbanism, all in a way that brings together the three driving forces in the city’s life—community, commerce and technology.

Community will be preeminent as this new downtown becomes the centerpiece of the revitalized core of the city. This setting will be designed for pedestrians with many activities of daily life occurring within walking distance.

Commerce will be enhanced by the inclusion of additional multi-tenant office buildings around the development, complemented by new restaurants, specialty shops, personal services and other small-service businesses.

Technology companies will be provided a dynamic location, surrounded by complementary companies as well as green spaces, walking and biking paths, sidewalk tables and small informal gathering spots.

Retail represents 253,000 sq. ft. of 1.7 million sq. ft. of specialty retail, office, residential and entertainment venues at New Town Shops on Main in Williamsburg, Va. Complementary area retailers include Talbots, Williams-Sonoma, Chico’s, T.J. Maxx, Belk’s, Target, L.L. Bean and Bed Bath & Beyond. Neighboring businesses and attractions include The College of William & Mary, Colonial Williamsburg, Ford’s Colony, Busch Gardens, Anheuser Busch and Yorktown Naval Station.
