Priceline digs into food service

Norwalk, Conn. – Online pricing provider The Priceline Group is digging into the food service market.



Priceline has acquired AS Digital, an Australian provider of restaurant table and reservation management solutions.



AS Digital will expand Priceline's global footprint in the digital restaurant reservation booking business, following Priceline’s acquisition of OpenTable in 2014. AS Digital will roll into the OpenTable brand within The Priceline Group, and serve to accelerate OpenTable's entry into the Australian market and expand its operations in Japan and across the Asia Pacific region. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
