Price Chopper deploys Thomson Reuters initiative

8/7/2009

Ann Arbor, Mich. Price Chopper Supermarkets said Friday it has implemented a Micromedex reference solution as part of the chain’s patient-centered care initiative for pharmacy customers.

The evidence-based solution, by Thomson Reuters, is designed to facilitate drug and disease reference, patient education and consumer health information.

"Price Chopper is very committed to positively affecting patient outcomes," said Price Chopper pharmacist Alisha Roberts. "By using Micromedex content, our pharmacists feel confident they are providing the highest quality, clinically consistent care."

Price Chopper also uses the Micromedex Consumer Health Solution on its Web portal to provide customers with evidence-based drug information. The Consumer Health Solution provides pill images and covers adverse drug interactions, alternative medicines, and general health, nutrition and disease topics.
