Poll: Consumers weary of slow economy
NEW YORK As the economy continues to show signs of weakness, consumers are more concerned over keeping up their standard of living. According to a new Washington-Post ABC News poll, 68% of people surveyed said they were worried about maintaining their lifestyles, up 17 percentage points from December.
Concern was high amongst those fromhouseholds with annual incomes of $100,000 or highe, with nearly six in 10 surveyed reporting that they worried whether or not they'd be able to keep up with the life they were used to.
According to the poll, 20% said higher gasoline prices was the single biggest economic issue an about a third said rising prices in general was their main cause for concern.
