Pier I Imports Q3 sales climb 13.7%

Forth Worth, Texas Pier 1 Imports said Thursday that its same-store sales climbed 13.7% in the third quarter, helped by better traffic and fewer markdowns.

Pier 1 said the average transaction amount improved in the quarter, which ended Nov. 28.

Total third-quarter sales rose 9% to $327 million from $301 million.
