Sherwin-Williams is launching a new omnichannel tool designed to radically simplify how customers pick a paint color.
ColorSnap is a comprehensive system with an in-store display that helps customers select colors -- in 60% less time than with the previous display, according to in-store testing conducted by Sherwin-Williams.ColorSnap will also be available for iPhone, iPad, Android and online, allowing customers to scan each take-home color chip for instant access to inspirational room scenes.
The ColorSnap Studio display groups colors by family (red, yellow, blue, etc.), and then by saturation level. There's also a new category just for whites.
Each family is in turn set on one of 24 rotating panels, each of which features a curated selection of nearly 50 paint chips.
"With the ColorSnap system, we've created a completely new way to navigate color," said Jackie Jordan, director, color marketing for Sherwin-Williams. "Whether in their neighborhood Sherwin-Williams store, at home or on the go, ColorSnap provides a solution to easily explore and find color any way the consumer chooses."
The displays will also feature 2" by 3" take-home color chips to give customers a better sense of how the colors will look in their homes.
A central work area will also be included for customers to arrange and review their choices, as well as get help from store experts.
For pros, the ColorSnap Design Pro Suite will include an updated and expanded suite of tools for professionals (like an ergonomic fan deck, portable and desktop kits and more).
ColorSnap starts rolling out this month and will be available in all 4,000 Sherwin-Williams stores across the U.S. and Canada by the end of January 2016.
