10/2/2007

Somerset, N.J. - Philips Lighting Co. announces the introduction of ALTO II, its next-generation low-mercury fluorescent lamp technology for the professional lighting market. Containing 50% less mercury than its previous generation of low-mercury fluorescent lamps, ALTO II technology represents a new standard in green lighting for the market’s broad range of commercial, institutional, industrial and retail applications.

One of Philips Lighting’s leading Green Flagship products, the ALTO II lamps’ long-lasting, energy-efficient, and environmentally conscious product design fully promotes sustainability by helping to reduce CO2 greenhouse-gas and mercury emissions as well as minimize replacement and disposal efforts.

In addition to the T8 ALTO II lamp types that are currently available, Philips Lighting will be incorporating ALTO II technology into its broad range of 32-Watt, 17-Watt, and 25-Watt T8 types over the course of the next 18 months.
