Phase two of Saddle Creek redevelopment underway

7/24/2015

Germantown, Tenn. - Trademark Property Co. has broken ground on the second phase of redevelopment at its Saddle Creek shopping center in Germantown, Tennessee, focusing on enhancements to the north side of the property. Combined with the initial phase, which is nearing completion, the redevelopment efforts will add approximately 25,000 sq. ft. of new retail space to the property.

In addition, the property announced that Soft Surroundings, a multi-channel specialty retailer, will open a 4,000-sq.-ft. store this fall at Saddle Creek North. Other tenants coming to Saddle Creek include Kendra Scott and Stoney River Steakhouse and Grill, both of which will open their first Memphis-area locations in fall/winter 2015. In addition, Michael Kors recently opened at Saddle Creek South, adjacent to Talbot’s.

“There is no other retail property in the Memphis area like Saddle Creek, and to remain an iconic property it’s important to evolve,” said Terry Montesi, CEO of Trademark Property Co. “The redevelopment efforts offer the additional space and upgraded amenities necessary for the center to remain the dominant lifestyle destination for tenants and customers alike. We’re focusing our leasing efforts on filling the added 25,000-sq.-ft. of space with key tenants – like Stoney River, Soft Surroundings, Michael Kors, Kendra Scott, and others – who fit the distinct, upscale mix at Saddle Creek.”

The second phase of renovations will include approximately 5,000-sq.-ft. of new retail space and additional parking at Saddle Creek North, which is slated for winter 2015 completion. Simultaneous with the building, new signage, wayfinding, landscaping, public space transformation, and façade renovations will visually tie the northeast corner to Saddle Creek South and are scheduled for completion in 2016.

Phase I redevelopment efforts for Saddle Creek have centered on the property renovation and expansion on the southwest side of Poplar Avenue and West Street, where a two-story building was demolished to make way for 20,000-sq.-ft. of new retail and restaurant space. Additional improvements include remodeled building façades at Saddle Creek South and West; upgrades to plazas, public art, lighting, signage, wayfinding and landscaping. Finishing touches are currently underway, with completion of phase I slated for August 2015.
