Petco has growth in store for July

Petco will not be taking it easy this summer.



As part of a 2016 growth plan which includes 26 new Petco stores and one new Unleashed by Petco location, the specialty pet supplies retailer will open five new Petco stores across the country in July. In addition to the five new stores, the company is also remodeling 12 stores in Seattle, one in San Diego, expanding one store in Heath, Ohio, and relocating one store in Middleburg Heights, Ohio.



The new stores will open Friday, July 8 in Guilford, Connecticut and East Longmeadow, Massachusetts; Friday, July 15 in Nottingham, Maryland and Lexington, South Carolina; and Friday, July 29 in Sturbridge, Massachusetts.



In addition, 12 Seattle stores that underwent recent remodels will reopen Friday, July 29. One store in San Diego will be remodeled and reopen Friday, July 22. A store in Heath, Ohio, will be expanded and re-open Friday, July 15, while an Ohio store in Middleburg Heights will be relocated and open Friday, July 29.



Petco currently operates about 1,400 stores across the U.S.
