Perfumania reports sales up in May

Bellport, N.Y. Perfumania Holdings said Thursday that revenue rose in May as customers spent more money in its stores.

The company said same-store sales rose 7.3%in the month ended May 29. In the year-ago period, the measure sank 11.2%.

Overall revenue for the month rose 6.2% to $18.7 million, from $17.6 million last year. Year to date, total sales rose to $70.7 million, from $64.3 million.
