Pep Boys appoints new HR chief

PHILADELPHIA — Pep Boys, a leading automotive aftermarket service and retail chain, announced the appointment of Jim Flanagan as chief human resources officer, effective August 26.


In his new role, Flanagan will lead the company’s strategy efforts to develop and retain staff to care for its customers and their cars. Flanagan previously served as chief human resources officer of GSI Commerce, prior to its acquisition by eBay. His more than 20 years of leadership experience includes human resources positions at Starwood Hotels, Starbucks, Bank of America and homegrocer.com.

Pep Boys has more than 7,000 service bays in more than 700 locations in 35 states and Puerto Rico. It offers name-brand tires, automotive maintenance and repair, parts and expert advice for the Do-It-Yourselfer, commercial auto parts delivery and fleet maintenance and repair.
