Penn Traffic Asks for Third Extension

Syracuse, N.Y., Penn Traffic asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for a third extension—until Jan. 24—to file its reorganization plan. The chain, which operates 111 stores and five distribution centers, has been operating under Chapter 11 since May 2003.
