Peapod opens new facility in Long Island

BRAINTREE, Mass. Peapod and Stop & Shop announced Tuesday that they have opened a third facility on Long Island to serve the online grocery shopping needs of the community.

"Peapod by Stop & Shop is excited to be able to serve additional customers in Long Island," said Peapod president Andrew Parkinson. "Our growth on Long Island reflects the demand for this service and we believe that our increased capacity will enable us to better serve our customers. As always, we will strive to provide a wide selection of well-priced, top quality, fresh products with the ease of Internet shopping and home delivery."

According to the company, Peapod services will now be available to most consumers living in Suffolk and Nassau County, as well as additional communities in Queens, including Bayside, Cambria Heights, College Point, Flushing, Fresh Meadows, Hollis, Jamaica, Rosedale, Saint Albans, Springfield Gardens and Whitestone.
