PCMS, a supplier of software and IT consulting services, has named retail technology executive Andrew Winans as CEO of its Americas operation.

Winans has more than 25 years of retail technology and business management experience. Prior to joining PCMS, Winans served as president of Walton Creek Ventures, a consulting company offering services to startup and early phase companies. Previously, he was president at QuantiSense, the leading provider of enterprise business intelligence and data warehousing applications for retailers. And, before that Winans impressive resume includes roles as president, retail product leadership with the Nielsen Company and key positions with Netezza (now a division of IBM), MicroStrategy, Tandem (now a division of HP) and NCR.

Winans will focus on business strategy and growth as well as staff development. Winans will work closely with new and existing PCMS clients and will champion the customer service excellence that PCMS has been recognized for.

“Andy is a welcome addition to our company. His experience with rapidly growing technology companies and his proven leadership in retail technology and data organizations will be a tremendous asset to our clients and employees,” said Richard Smith, founder and PCMS CEO. “His background will provide fresh perspective to key areas within our Americas operation.”

Winans succeeds John Court, who is working in the PCMS head office in Coventry, U.K.

“From my view, PCMS is an incredibly dynamic company. PCMS has a strong customer base, outstanding products and is making major investments in both product development and people,” said Winans. “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to build-on and strengthen the good things that are already happening.”
