PBTeen targets Gen Z with ‘awesome’ video campaign

7/10/2015

San Francisco – Never mind Gen Y, the millennial generation that roughly ends with young consumers born in 2000.

Williams-Sonoma tween and tween banner PBteen is targeting the post-2000 “Gen Z” audience with an original six-episode Web series called “Revved Up Rooms.”

In partnership with AwesomenessTV, a multi-platform media company that specializes engaging the Gen Z audience. PBteen will produce the series, featuring YouTube star Meg DeAngelis (MayBaby on YouTube). This will be the first product integration campaign with a home décor brand for AwesomenessTV and PBteen’s first video series featuring a vlogger.

DeAngelis will feature a new DIY project for her millions of followers each episode, showcased within a set styled by PBteen. The series features new PBteen furniture, bedding, rugs, lighting, decorative accessories, wall décor, storage solutions and more. Viewers can enter for a chance to win one of the PBteen rooms featured in the episode online through Aug.31.

“Our initial attraction to AwesomenessTV stems from its impressive reach and influence on the global teen audience,” said Felix Carbullido, chief marketing officer, Williams-Sonoma, Inc. “After meeting Meg DeAngelis, we were impressed by her relatable personality and are delighted she’s agreed to showcase our teen home furnishings in ‘Revved Up Rooms.’ We can’t wait to share this new content with our existing PBteen customers, as well as engage with additional teens worldwide.”

PBteen is asking viewers to follow AwesomenessTV on social media with the hashtag #RevvedUpRooms and is also hosting “Revved Up Rooms” viewing parties in stores July 17-19 and July 24-26.
