The Paradies Shops Not Impacted by Flight Cancellations

4/11/2008

Atlanta With thousands of flights cancelled by American Airlines, airports have been flooded with stranded and disgruntled passengers. The Paradies Shops, with more than 500 stores in 60 airports throughout the United States and Canada, told Chain Store Age that its business has not been adversely impacted by the cancellations.

“Our sales are continuing to trend with the business plan and stores are maintaining their numbers this week,” said Bobbi Passavanti, spokeswoman for Atlanta-based Paradies Shops.

The bigger concern, which she said the company addressed Thursday, is encouraging store associates to be mindful that traveling consumers are likely dealing with more challenges in the current climate. “We reminded store associates to do whatever they can to help make life easier for these travelers,” she said.

A privately held company, The Paradies Shops would not comment on specific sales numbers.
