Pantry Profit Up

Sanford, N.C. The Pantry Inc. said Thursday its fiscal fourth-quarter profit soared in the quarter on a 24.5% boost in revenue, which benefited from higher gas prices. For the quarter ended Sept. 25, profit rose to $22.9 million, from $5.6 million in the prior-year quarter.

Revenue rose to $2.51 billion from $2.02 billion in the fourth quarter of 2007.
