PacSun Oct. sales, comps see double-digit % drop

ANAHEIM, Calif. Pacific Sunwear of California reported October sales for the four weeks ended Nov. 1, of $69.3 million, a decrease of 10% from $76.7 million during the same period last year. Same-store sales decreased 11%.

Net sales for the fiscal third quarter were $323.6 million, a decrease of 5% from $341.8 million in 2007. Third-quarter same-store sales decreased 7%.

The company now expects to report a fiscal 2008 third quarter net loss of approximately 7 cents to 8 cents per diluted share.
