Oprah will be there!

For the seventh consecutive year, Target will serve as the presenting sponsor of the Minerva Awards. This year’s recipients include Oprah Winfrey, Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, Sister Terry Dodge, Oral Lee Brown and Carolyn Blashek. The awards program was created in 2004 by California First Lady Maria Shriver to honor women who, in the spirit of Minerva, the Greek goddess on the California state seal, changed California and the nation with their courage, wisdom and strength. Shriver will present the honorees with their awards at a special ceremony during the afternoon session of The Women’s Conference at the Long Beach Convention Center on Tuesday, Oct. 26. More than 30,000 women are expected to attend the two-day conference.
