NEW YORK — Gilt, an online shopping website, has appointed Tracey Weber as chief operating officer, effective September 3. Weber joins Gilt from Citibank, where she was the managing director, North America Internet and mobile and global product.
In her role as chief operating officer, Weber will have responsibility for many of Gilt's operations, including Gilt City, international, customer service and merchandise planning; she will also oversee several new strategic initiatives. Weber will report directly to CEO Michelle Peluso.

"I'm tremendously excited to welcome Tracey to our team," said Peluso. "Tracey and I have worked together in different capacities for more than 15 years, including when we were co-founders of the travel site, Site.com. She's an exceptional leader of people, and she brings to Gilt tremendous e-commerce experience at a global scale. As we accelerate growth in revenue and profitability, Tracey will be an invaluable contributor in helping us achieve this."
"I have always loved being at the forefront of companies that are changing consumers' experiences," said Weber. "I am thrilled to be joining Gilt at this truly transformative time."
