Online retailer stops shipping to South Dakota as tax battle heats up

Folks in the state of South Dakota can no longer buy baubles from popular online jewelry retailer Blue Nile.



The company has announced that it will no longer sell to South Dakota residents, reported the Argus Leader, and has put a warning on its web site’s checkout page that stops users from completing purchases once a South Dakota address is entered. The move comes after the state sent letters to over 200 online retailers this spring to let them know they either have to start paying sales tax or risk legal action. To read more click here
