OfficeMax offers low-cost photo service

NAPERVILLE, Ill. OfficeMax announced that it has partnered with online photo service Photofun. According to the companies, the service offers the lowest online price for 4x6 prints -- 5 cents each.

"Photofun is a high quality online photo service that offers an extensive selection of unique photo gifts on the market today at an incredible value," said Ryan Vero, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer for OfficeMax. "Many people are using their computers and digital cameras as virtual photo filing cabinets. Through our partnership with Photofun, we're making it easier and more affordable for customers to create memorable photo books and gifts to share with friends and family."

With sales sluggish as of later, any opportunity to boost performance is a good idea for OfficeMax. Online photo sites are becoming more popular, so aligning itself with one may be the right move for the office retailer.
