OfficeMax adds home, in-store support to Web-based ctrlcenter

9/3/2008

NAPERVILLE, Ill. OfficeMax announced that it is adding home and in-store tech support options to its Web-based tech support service, ctrlcenter. Customers now have the option to drop off their desktop or laptop computers at any OfficeMax store in the United States and Puerto Rico for service or arrange to have a ctrlcenter service technician perform at-home/office installations and set-up services.

"Current economic conditions have consumers thinking twice before they invest in a new system, and [they] are more focused than ever on keeping their current PC performing at an optimum level," said OfficeMax evp and chief merchandising officer Ryan Vero. "Customers appreciate the quality of support that ctrlcenter's Web-based platform offers, so much so that they wanted to see it extended to at-home and in-store service options."
