Office Depot sued for $217 million by printer cartridge company

9/10/2009

Boca Raton, Fla. A printer cartridge company has sued Office Depot for $217 million, claiming it fraudulently schemed to obtain supplies, according to the Associated Press.

Nukote International, an Office Depot vendor with a distribution center in Franklin, Tenn., filed the complaint Tuesday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Nashville.

The company said that from late 2008 until this May, Office Depot deceived Nukote to obtain its private-brand imaging supplies.

The complaint claims Office Depot encouraged Nukote to continue shipping products that Office Depot had no plans to buy.

Nukote filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection this year.
