Office Depot to Shut Down Orlando Warehouse
Orlando, Fla. Office Depot plans to shut down its Orlando transportation and warehousing facility. The move will lay off 125 employees.
The state was notified the workers will be terminated between Feb. 13 and Feb. 24. Some workers will be relocated to other jobs within Office Depot, but most are being offered severance packages and outplacement services.
Office Depot has a similar facility in Westin, Fla. Orlando will be served either by the Westin center or one in Atlanta, the company said.
The move to close the Orlando center was part of the company’s announcement in December that it would be closing 112 underperforming retail stores and five warehouses around the country.
