Office Depot launches holiday site

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. Office Depot announced today that it has launched a special interactive Web site for the holiday season. According to the company, the new Web site, www.giftofthedaygiveaway.com, features a variety of fun, interactive features, including a “Shake the Globe” instant win game.

“The holiday season can be a busy and stressful time, but Office Depot is here to provide customers a one-stop shopping experience and broad assortment of the season’s top gifts,” said Chuck Rubin, president of North American retail for Office Depot. “The Office Depot Gift-of-the-Day Instant Win Game provides our customers with the chance to win some of this year’s most desired gifts.” 

For the third quarter 2007 Office Depot reported that sales increased 2% to $3.9 billion. Sales in the North American retail division were flat with comparable-store sales down 5% for the quarter. The North American business solutions division reported a 3% sales decline in the quarter while international division sales increased 13% in U.S. dollars and 5% in local currencies.
