Oakley Gives Green Light to Luxottica

Foothill Ranch, Calif., Oakley Inc. shareholders on Wednesday approved Luxottica Group S.p.A.’s $2.1 billion purchase of the company.

The deal, which was first announced in June, is expected to close in mid-November.

Milan, Italy-based Luxottica is the world's largest maker of eyewear. The company also owns the retail chains LensCrafters, Sunglass Hut, Watch Station, and Watch World, and the EyeMed Vision Care group.
